The role of Director, Procurement Excellence and Shared Service Center is a key role in the procurement organization. Under her/his leadership, best practices will be defined and deployed within procurement to support the procurement team delivering business critical objectives, such as cost savings, cash improvement, compliance/risk management and sustainability. The Director will be in charge of running smoothly the Shared Service Center (16FTE) by optimizing the P2P process, maintaining VMD, strengthening S2C capabilities within procurement, reporting key metrics for business decisions, providing market intelligence services and running supplier risk management processes.
The Director will also be responsible for the Procurement Excellence program at Wella, building, implementing, and communicating best sourcing practices and tools to drive operational excellence. She/He will lead continuous improvement programs and elevate organizational capabilities to meet long-term operational goals. She/He will leverage their working knowledge of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement initiatives to educate, train, influence, and drive consistent adoption of best practices across all operating geographies, and for all teams within the Strategic Sourcing department. This role reports to the Chief Procurement Officer and will be responsible for the development, deployment, maintenance, and compliance management of Procurement policies, systems, processes, and tools as well as all internal Procurement reporting and training activities. This position will serve to support the successful execution of business strategies while meeting or exceeding the Procurement Organizational performance goals.
Three positions will directly report into this role: the BPO Team Leader and two Senior Manager – Procurement Excellence.
In order to be successful, the Director will need to understand Wella Procurement organization’s requirements and be closely connected with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sustainability teams. She/he will elaborate and execute the 5 years excellence roadmap for the Procurement function with regards to procurement policies, methodologies & tool kits, learning & development plan, sustainability program, savings & cash reports. The Director will also lead a team of 16 employees in our Shared Service Center (SSC), ensuring flawless execution across all service lines by setting up and monitoring relevant KPIs with the help of the SSC Team Leader and owning the supplier relationship management activity with Wella Procurement centre provider.

Procurement Excellence
- Leads the design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of procurement systems and tools to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of best practices in strategic sourcing, SRM, and operational procurement processes (e.g. contract management, bidding tools, use of automation/AI, data analytics, reporting, etc.)
- Maintain procurement systems expertise and training program (SAP, Ariba, Sievo)
- Drive P2P/S2C Process optimization leveraging and updating systems and policies
- Maintain and keep up to date Procurement policies and methodologies
- Builds and manage enterprise-wide spend & market analytics capabilities, manage the on-going analysis & reporting of core spend data in support of procurement category teams
- Lead the development and deployment of procurement learning & development program
- Implement Supplier Assurance (i.e. risk assessment) program with the help of BPO provider
- Coordinate the development and implementation of tools and best practices in the fields of Sustainable, Ethical and Supplier Diversity procurement programs
- Develop strategic plan for procurement technology adoptions, enhancements and/or developments (e.g. spend analytics, eProcurement, etc.)
Global Procurement Operations Center (GPO)
- Lead the shared service center team to ensure best use of resources to support Wella procurement globally with Sourcing support and Procurement transactions.
- Review SSC performance with BPO provider, drive efficiencies, improve service, reduce costs and/or increase output with new services.
- Drive compelling monthly procurement drumbeat reviews for decision making and procurement performance increase.
- Continuously improve P2P/S2C processes through automation and smart policies, while keeping a high compliance score.
- Manage SSC output across all services: PR check and Ariba Service desk, content management (SAP, Ariba), sourcing approvals, price mismatch resolution, market intelligence, e-sourcing support, reporting & consolidation, risk management.
Profile and competencies
- Bachelor or Masters in engineering, science or business management, MBA preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in procurement and sourcing, with exposure to procurement operations, P2P and bidding tools, procurement excellence programs.
- Must have experience with procurement processes, systems, tools, technologies such as Oracle, SAP Ariba, Sievo, Coupa or similar sourcing, savings and carbon tools/tracking.
- Strong project management experience and ideally procurement operations management experience, systems or process transformation or skills
- Ability to develop, implement and drive sourcing performance metrics
- Proficient knowledge of strategic sourcing best practices and support systems with demonstrated capabilities
- Work experience in an international environment and matrix organizations
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, BI reporting and Project management software.

- High degree of fluency in written and spoken English is required, a second language is an asset.
