Apex Systems is seeking a Program Cybersecurity Lead to support the DoD CIO in Alexandria, VA.
Assists in establishing a Joint Management Office (JMO) as the senior representative for cybersecurity equities. Proposes, coordinates, manages, and supports research on possible applications of emerging technology and innovation trends and changing techniques, processes, and policies while accomplishing objectives and managing resources efficiently and effectively. Plans and oversees the direction of technological and business innovations for operational improvements and shared services to enable the JMO. Routinely collaborates with DoD Components and to develop an enterprise architecture, which integrates security systems across the DoD enterprise to focus on insider threat mitigation. Provides knowledge management support for DoD insider threat business process. Provides DoD and intelligence community architecture compliance support for the defense security enterprise. Ensures business process and IT system compliance with the Deputy Chief Management Officer and DoD CIO. Supports system development and migration efforts using system-to-operational activity architectures. Advises the Program Manager on insider threat program management and supports related data requests. Performs administrative functions and special projects in support of the JMO and supports the direction of JMO leadership through product development and delivery as warranted.
You Have:
- 12 years total experience and 10 years’ experience with cybersecurity or IT related matters. Four additional years are required if no degree is held
- Knowledge of the Department of Defense and its Components
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Knowledge of insider threat and user activity monitoring practices and applications
- Ability to clearly communicate to executives and C-suite equivalents in a clear, concise manner via verbal, written and visual communication channels
- Ability to translate technology, intelligence and/or cybersecurity information into enterprise-level reports, policy and strategy documents
- Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility required
- Education: Bachelors degree required (see note above about experience equivalent)
- Certification: Not required
Nice If You Have:
- Experience within the DoD at an OSD-level office or Joint Command
- Experience overseeing a cybersecurity focused-team, project or work effort
- Knowledge of the role of the Office of the Secretary of Defense
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principals and their application
- Knowledge of CATMS or a similar task management system to direct tasking across a broad organization
- Ability to conduct required research and coordination to represent leadership intent and interests in a Joint Office
- Clearance: TS/SCI preferred
- Education: four-year degree in a technical field
- Certification: Certification accepted for IAT III, IAM III, or any CSSP category is a plus.
