The R2R Global Process Lead is a critical role responsible for driving the strategy, innovation, and measurement of the Global Record to Report (R2R) organization. This role will play a central role in making and executing critical operational, financial, and transformation decisions, while also coordinating the management of end-to-end process governance and driving the strategic and tactical globalization of enterprise processes and systems.

The R2R Global Process Lead will be accountable for delivering standardization, optimization, and governance for Global R2R, which has a footprint of approximately 600 colleagues responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and close activities for Pfizer.

  • Serve as the global owner for process design, architecture, and performance management, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and budget commitments.
  • Develop and drive the global process strategy for R2R, ensuring it aligns with the overall organizational objectives. Identify and architect innovative solutions leveraging technology, and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes, including scanning the market for appropriate solutions
  • Establish and maintain robust governance mechanisms for the end-to-end R2R process. This includes defining SOPs, controls, and key metrics to ensure compliance to US GAAP and Pfizer’s policies, accuracy, and timeliness in financial reporting
  • Implement and drive standardization initiatives across the R2R function to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality
  • Lead and support transformation initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation to achieve operational excellence and drive continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as Finance, Business Units, GBS and Digital teams, to understand their requirements, align priorities, and ensure successful implementation of initiatives
  • This role will report to the Global Corporate Accounting Lead based in Tampa, FL.
  • Proactively monitor cross-functional and enterprise-wide initiatives that impact the R2R process, including people, processes, and technology. Develop recommendations for the Global Process Owner (GPO) to ensure alignment, maintain agility, and mitigate disruption
  • Create a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, internal controls, and compliance across R2R
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of appropriate process performance metrics to ensure optimal service delivery
  • Lead benchmarking activities and continuously assess global process performance measures
  • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles and processes
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Program or project management skills
  • Experience executing process and technology enabled business transformation, and delivering enterprise-level Digital projects
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others, to consider the needs of all affected groups, and to build/leverage relationships across functions and organizations to achieve business results. Decisive yet collaborative leadership style.
  • Excellent business acumen to develop effective strategic business partnership across the organization , including senior leaders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management, stakeholders and business partners
  • Ability to provide a strategic and business perspective including putting the needs of Finance and the Business Units in context of the larger Pfizer organization
  • Must be able to quickly effect change and improvements across organizations and geography by visualizing, leading design and execution of business practices and processes to bring standardization and minimize disruption

Required Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA or international equivalent (ACCA)
  • 10 years of relevant experience required in Corporate Finance and/or GBS/Shared Services Record-to-Report environment
  • Practical experience of US GAAP
  • Management and supervisory experience
  • Experience leading accounting and/or finance teams in a complex and global environment
  • Experience in executing process and organization transformation initiatives
  • Experience/background in evaluating business risk and implementing financial and operational controls
  • Demonstrated experience in executing large scale strategies and complex global projects while meeting budget commitments and meeting and/or exceeding customers’ expectations
  • SAP & Oracle FCCS experience
  • English proficiency
