As a Senior Corporate Strategy Associate, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving our company’s growth and profitability strategies. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, business acumen, and emotional intelligence to support cross-functional teams through complex business challenges and decisions. You will be responsible for acting as an internal strategic consultant, supporting multiple concurrent projects, and developing robust frameworks and communications to support strategic decision-making. The successful individual will excel in connecting across the organization, conducting data-driven analyses, synthesizing strategic options, and driving execution against our corporate objectives.
We are seeking a candidate who combines intelligence, experience, business acumen, and humility to join our high-performing Corporate Strategy team. This is a unique opportunity to significantly impact Dexcom’s future direction. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy. It will support all aspects of strategic decision-making, including creating material to guide executive meetings, leveraging interpersonal awareness and creativity to resolve conflicting positions, and collaborating across all functions of the organization to manage a portfolio of initiatives.
This position is based in San Diego, CA, with global responsibilities. Dexcom supports remote work for employees. At the same time, this pivotal leadership role must have the ability to be present in San Diego offices at least 25% of the time and travel as needed.
- You support cross-functional, global business teams to drive analyses, recommendations, and execution for our corporate initiatives.
- You collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Corporate Development, Legal, and other functions to analyze and evaluate new strategic business opportunities, M&A, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures.
- You provide direction in planning, designing, and implementing strategic business objectives, including synthesizing complex business problems, drawing out strategic insights, and co-developing quantitative business models.
- You develop materials to support workshops, cross-functional meetings, and other key corporate planning meetings.
- You help identify and structure the key strategic questions the organization must answer to achieve growth goals and competitive differentiation.
What makes you successful:
- You have experience in a strategic business role that developed your expertise in the medical device, diabetes, life sciences or digital health industries. MBA and Management Consulting experience preferred.
- You are naturally curious and comfortable asking questions, establishing sufficient understand in areas that may be outside your expertise, and debating assumptions.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, find comfort in ambiguity, and look forward to driving results by overcoming challenges.
- You are comfortable in both lead or support roles across various programs and responsibilities, including hands-on data crunching and presentation building.
- You excel in visual, written, and oral storytelling with a knack for distilling insights from wide sources of information. This includes advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- You demonstrate high emotional intelligence, challenge the status quo, and manage sensitive situations.
