The Purpose of this position is to oversees service delivery and the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the of the Accounting Operations Shared Services Center in Bangalore, India. This role serves as the critical bridge between numerous accounting processes (AP, Payroll, Product SKU catalogue) and the rest of the organization.
SERVICE DELIVERY
- Responsible to lead a team to ensure that the vendor payment processing, fixed asset additions, disposals/ transfers and IFRS accounting, intra group billing and employee expense report, and payroll processing are completed on a timely basis in the automated systems. This covers multiple Finastra Entities and global centers.
- Oversees the control procedures like timely reconciliation of day-end and month-end balances and performs analysis on reports and schedules (month-end/quarter-end/year-end) for Group and Financial reporting purposes
- Leads a large team of direct and indirect reports (over 100), manages performance, employee development as well as career and succession planning.
- Focus on process excellence by analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities, and driving projects to further improve processes and systems with a focus on operating profit, growing sales, operational efficiency, eliminating waste and standardization of work.
CONTROLS, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND PRODUCTIVITY
- Lead the change process to improve controls and productivity through continuous improvement, increased automation and digitization.
- Enable the use of data analytics to identify trends to perform checks to better identify risk and enhance controls.
- Streamline processes and procedures of the team to improve controls and efficiency. Also ensures appropriate and timely implementation of updates in support services required to align with any organizational, product or service changes.
- Reviews and monitors team’s processes to identify trends and problem areas, reporting on risks, key performance indicators and to propose new processes to achieve improved controls and productivity
- Establishes quality control mechanisms like data analytics, periodic data quality assurance reviews and to monitor error escalation metrics or procedures.
- Liaise and handle queries from internal, external auditors, stake holders and management.
- Handle ad-hoc projects and system enhancements as a user. This will include deployment of new systems including change management and training required for the team.
- Ensures compliance with the relevant accounting standards and internal policies and procedures especially those related to controls and governance.
STANDARDS, METRICS AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTIONS
- Establish and manage productivity and performance SLA’s, KPI’s and dashboard reports to ensure metrics are captured and reported. Review results against best in class to regularly assess and deliver competitive performance.
- Responsible for meeting service standards and adherences to procedures.
- Establishes priorities and schedules main activities for the team to meet the deadlines.
- Chartered Accountant or MBA equivalent professional qualification
- Experience running target driven finance operations and risk management within a sheared service environment
- Experience ensuring regulatory compliances and controls
