Smartsheet is looking for a Strategic Program leader to join our growing team. Reporting directly to our VP, Strategic Transformation & Operations, this role will lead the development, delivery and maintenance of strategic project and program initiatives, including our cross functional program management committee, annual planning process, and other projects that materially increase business value.
You will report to our VP, Strategic Transformation and Operations located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
- Lead and maintain cross functional standards, and guidelines for program management at Smartsheet including building a rolling portfolio and roadmap of projects
- Establish and maintain necessary processes, solutions, measurements, reporting, and escalations to ensure successful intake, prioritization and delivery of programs and projects
- Champion best practices and ensure that the scope, business case, goals, and success metrics for projects are well-defined, understood, measured, and reported
- Ensure adoption of standards and procedures governing the practice of program and project management and the execution of the project portfolio
- Lead cross-organization PMO alignment and transparency efforts, including best practices, holistic resource planning, and aggregate prioritization
- Run large cross-functional projects and ensure that team members have clear timelines and deliverables.
- Develop and meet project goals, delivery strategies, and implementation plans
- Liaise with leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts across the business
- Develop and train a growing team of program and project management professionals
- Foster accountability of cross-functional team leads to resolve project issues and ensure project success
- Conduct project post-mortems and continuous improvement sessions; ensure lessons and recommendations are incorporated
- Support other duties as needed
- Bachelors or masters degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of cross-functional, operational leadership experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications preferred
- Broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
- Experience managing large, enterprise-wide projects involving cross-functional teams across many areas and levels of an organization
- Strategically minded yet also operationally oriented, and highly collaborative
- Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills to drive organizational change
- Experience with project management tools and software (preferably Smartsheet)
