The Global Process Owner – Record to Report role is responsible for establishing and driving the global strategy for the Record to Report process with the goal of defining a globally standardized process for RTR. This initiative aims to enable Mars to realize efficiencies while ensuring accuracy and control. In this capacity, the GPO owns and defines enterprise-wide standards for the process, establishes the metrics that matter for the process, and drives the transformational agenda globally to achieve stated goals. This role will be responsible for making decisions related to process, technology, and delivery model for the Record to Report cycle. The aim is to ensure that all key stakeholders and decision-makers within MGSF and the Segments are appropriately engaged.

• Assume global ownership for formulating strategy, designing processes, and overseeing the implementation of digital, re-engineering, and innovation projects across Record to Report processes. These encompass General Accounting processes such as JEs, Reconciliations, Closing and Reporting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany accounting, and Supply Chain Finance.
• Provide effective Line Management across their global team of 3-4 Associates to ensure talent development and the achievement of key objectives for the business, including involvement in transformational projects and continuous improvement operations.
• Conduct an analysis of internal and external leading practices and benchmarks, developing a transformation roadmap based on agreed KPI performance for the processes.
• Take responsibility for defining the entire end-to-end business process and supporting technology, collaborating with wider MGSF, Controllership, DT, and the Segments.
• Drive process standardization through enterprise design across geographies at the Mars Inc level, making decisions on where customizations are permissible and overseeing implementation through indirect teams.
• Define and maintain the process and control standards documentation for Record to Report (R2R), including building process-level controls based on Internal Controls Excellence (ICE) control guidance and any additional controls, such as the identification of automated controls.
• Identify, strategize, and implement transformation projects to meet desired objectives.
• Make decisions on delivery model strategies for processes, collaborating with broader leadership teams on location and sourcing strategies (Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) versus captive).

This role will oversee a team of Associates globally, directly engaging with our MGSF Operations, MGSF Outsourcing provider, and Mars Segments. It holds a strategic nature, necessitating thought leadership and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The individual in this role must possess extensive knowledge of the external environment, encompassing leading practices in processes, delivery options, and digital tools and technologies, to design and deliver best-in-class processes for Mars. Collaboration is vital, ensuring interaction not only with MGS Finance operations but also with MGS Digital Technologies, Corporate Controllership, Segment Finance teams, and service provider vendors.
