Huron has an immediate need for an experienced leader to join our Supplier Contracting team. This Senior Manger role will report to the Shared Services Senior Director in India, with accountability as well to the Manager of Supplier Contracting in the US, and Huron’s Legal team.
- Reviews, drafts, and negotiates and redline a wide range of supplier commercial agreements including master services agreements, staffing support agreements, technology license/subscription agreements, sub-Business Associate Agreements, amendments and addendums, and non-disclosure agreements for all of Huron’s subsidiaries globally, with most requests originating in the US and subject to US law.
- Demonstrates an expert knowledge of contract law, including independent contractor classification qualifications, data privacy regulations (including GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA) as it applies to Huron’s engagement of international contingent workers and technologies that process sensitive data.
- Negotiates terms, conditions and if needed, commercial terms, and ensures they are accurately executed and satisfied.
- Oversees Supplier Contracting team. Provides coaching, feedback, and oversight on work performed by team. Ensures team meets expected standards.
- Oversees and develops supplier audit process and functions aimed and managing Huron risk and supplier performance.
- Oversees CLM support function and tasks for both client and supplier contracting teams. Tasks may include building and distributing reporting, contract abstraction, tagging and reviewing metadata, tracking high risk contracts, expiring contracts, or other work related to Huron’s CLM initiatives and systems.
- Develops and maintain playbooks on Huron’s supplier contracting standards.
- Develops operational metrics to measure team and improve processes.
- Responsible for working contract requests through the entire contracting cycle, from initial draft to finalization and signature, driving negotiations and approvals to timely and successful completion.
- Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages.
- Fosters collaborative working relationships with Huron global stakeholders including executives, corporate departments, and field staff headquartered in the US, as well as with Huron suppliers. Assists and guides engagement owners/partners within the business on contract process questions.
- Assists internal business clients and executives in ensuring Huron is compliant with contract provisions.
- Superb attention to detail and responsiveness in a high-volume, customer-focused, and fast-paced environment.
- Leads projects as assigned related to supplier contracting goals and initiatives.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Professional Law Degree required.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in commercial contracting supporting the US.
- Experience leading and managing a team supporting contracting functions.
- Experience building and improving processes, with a focus on measurement and results.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both internal and external customers, at all seniority levels among our internal clients and our suppliers.
- Highly motivated, strategic, detail-oriented approach with the ability to pro-actively organize a heavy workload and demonstrate excellent analytical abilities.
- Ability to work quickly and independently, with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lead negotiations in person, over phone calls, via video, etc. Supporting all global locations.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to effectively communicate and coordinate complex issues and projects with diverse levels of management and employees.
- Strong legal and business judgment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to think critically with a solution-driven mindset.
- Functional knowledge of Procurement.
- Proactive and persuasive approach to negotiation with business and suppliers
- Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts, including complex commercial agreements such as master services agreements.
- Experience reviewing software as a service, license, subscription, or other types of technology purchase agreements.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management and CLM software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and PDF is essential.
