The role is responsible for achieving a superior provision of facility management services, including safety, emergency systems, effective management of preventative planned reactive maintenance, developing and implementing a best practice operational strategy and implementation plan, and ensuring the full suite of facility management services are delivered. The role is required to drive and review the efficient delivery of all contracted Facilities Management services by the outsourced providers.
- Provide leadership, direction, and effective management to a Facilities Management team to deliver a best in class standard of state-wide facilities management services across the nominated portfolio, including coaching/mentoring to the team to drive a superior level of customer service.
- Provide subject matter and technical expertise in relation to leading facilities performance, as well as a program of new building projects, supporting the development of Asset Management Plans, ensuring consistent and regular site inspections are performed by the facilities management team which includes the management of hazards, risks, HSSEQ, suitable and cost effective asset management focused maintenance solutions are implemented and providing overall guidance on opportunities to harness best practice facilities management.
- Build strong delivery relationships with outsourced service providers, integrating their staff into the Asset and Workplace Services facilities management team, in order to manage the state-wide day-to-da delivery of facilities management services, which includes travel to Sydney Metropolitan and Regional and Outer Metropolitan sites.
- Provide strategic direction and management oversight of scheduled and ad-hoc building maintenance works, ensuring works are completed on-time, within-scope and within budget, and ensuring continuity of property services with minimum disruption to TfNSW business operations.
- Review supplier performance in collaboration with the AWS Contracts Management team, including monthly reporting, tracking KPIs, progress on key improvement initiatives, and managing risks and issues proactively.
- Manage the facilities management budget for nominated properties, ensuring expenditure aligns with priorities outlined in asset planning, and delivers the best outcomes for TfNSW.
- Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the importance of best practice Facilities Management including cost benefit, social benefit, asset maintenance, risk management and standardized service delivery.
- Act as a thought leader, remaining up to date with current and emerging issues and trends, including domestic and international best practices, innovative approaches, and opportunities to lead and support the development of improvement initiatives in collaboration with Security, Fire and Emergency Workplace Services, Service Improvement, Customer Experience, Fleet and Travel, Service Centre and wider TSS.
- Bring your experience in Facilities and Services to our Asset and Workplace Services team in our Transport Shared Services branch, Corporate Services Division.

- Provide expert advice, counsel, and recommendations regarding facilities management, to influence organizational decisions and initiatives.
- Receive advice and report on progress towards business objectives and discuss future directions.

- Work collaboratively with the workplace services, asset management and compliance teams, to deliver a holistic high quality facility management and workplace experience service.
- Provide data, information, and advice to support the development of the Portfolio Strategy and Strategic Asset Management plan.
- Establish and maintain effective communication, sharing of information, providing advice, and resolving issues collaboratively.

- Work collaboratively to ensure the alignment of short-and medium term facilities management priorities with the Portfolio Strategy.

- Build partnering relationships to ensure the effective delivery of facilities management services.
- Monitor service provider performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and business requirements.
- Ensure service provider staff and AWS staff work seamlessly as one team’ to deliver quality facility management services.

- Consult on facilities management strategies and issues.
- Establish networks to enable performance benchmarking and maintain currency in trends and developments in facilities management.
- Extensive experience in optimizing and delivering Facility Management services, continuous improvement, across large, complex and geographically dispersed Commercial and/or Industrial property portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing, customer centric teams, in collaboration with outsourced service providers, including providing feedback, management of performance, coaching/mentoring.
- Significant technical experience, sound knowledge of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) for essential services and safety, and knowledge of emergency procedures for low and high-rise buildings.
