The Strategic Growth Team is responsible for the development of Vanguard’s Personal Investor strategy including the Vanguard Super strategy and annual business planning process. The team is also responsible for the assessment and execution of potential inorganic growth opportunities and the oversight of the shared services delivery to Vanguard Super.

A key focus for this role will be providing analytical and operational support for the strategy and performance monitoring and inorganic growth processes. The Strategy & Reporting Analyst will support key management reporting deliverables in relation to business and strategy performance.

  • Undertake research, analyze and interpret data regarding business and competitor performance.
  • Develop and gain executive and Vanguard Super Board alignment on the strategy and business plan for Personal Investor, across both Vanguard Super and the Personal Investor IDPS service.
  • Build Executive level relationships across Vanguard to drive and influence the strategic agenda.
  • Deliver research and data collection activities – market trend analysis, competitor and member outcomes analysis etc. to support strategy development.
  • Prepare management reporting in relation to strategy execution and business performance.
  • Deliver the Business Performance Review (BPR) and Member Outcomes Assessments for Vanguard Super.
  • Work with Finance in undertaking high level financial modelling and analysis of strategic options and implications.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Proven experience in in-house corporate / business strategy roles, or strategy consulting / corporate advisory.
  • Proven ability to apply strategy development frameworks in identifying strategic issues and potential responses.
  • Experience working in superannuation or wealth management and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of the requirements of SPS515 – Strategic Planning and Member Outcomes.
  • Commercial acumen with strong emphasis on interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Industry experience within Financial Services. Superannuation and Investment Management experience will be well regarded.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business, commerce or related field. Professional certification or advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CA, CPA) .
