- Oversee the delivery of File Controlling services performed at three SGBS locations and covering multiple clusters and BU’s globally, striving to ensure high quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, compliance and insights in and reduction of exposures and risks.
- Build a strong team on global control design, KPI development and dashboarding as well as audit services.
- Build a strong team on cluster file controlling, where the initial target is to cover AIR & OCEAN.
- Assure high quality standard monitoring requirements of file controllers in SGBS and local teams in line with minimum standards.
- Assure high quality procedures to reconcile TMS – SAP on financial and non-financial data, participate in projects to improve and standardize the same, for all locations in the world, on a monthly or continuous basis.
- Potentially build out the services to cover Contract Logistics and Land as well over in the next years. All of this in close collaboration with HQ File Controlling and the global File Controlling Alliance directly and other teams like BU’s, Business Controlling, Financial Controlling, BI reporting and local teams indirectly.
- Identify risks, define, standardize and implement controls and KPI’s and ensure we measure and report transparent and accurate on the same. Cooperate in improving the upstream processes and SOP’s. Perform deep dives and audits and report transparent cooperative and with recommended resolutions on the same.
- Continuous monitoring of transactions in Transport Management Systems, identify out layers, address the same for resolution, identify and address root causes, drive process standardization and improvement, and service standards to improve the service delivery process.
- Resolve issues on files and in accruals on a day-to-day basis, as much as possible ahead of month end, in strong cooperation with BU’s prepare month end cut-off accruals, in line with SOP’s and Accounting Guidance.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, and ensure the services meet or exceed these expectations.
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to assess the quality of services, identify areas of improvement, and implement necessary changes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, SOP’s, Accounting and industry standards.
- Manage and lead teams, fostering an environment of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the budget, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining service standards.
- Ensure and be accountable for achievement of performance goals at the start of the year in coordination with the Head of File Controlling.
- Monitor work quality and escalate any operational issues in a timely manner.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or similar.
- 10+ years work experience in Finance, 5+ years of experience as a team leader, ideally in Shared Services for a governance, audit or controlling role.
- 5+ years of experience in Business, Financial Controlling or auditing.
- Strong understanding of Auditing and/or Controlling processes.
- Experience with Finance / Accounting ERP systems and ideally with Transport Management Systems (3PL AIR, Ocean, Land, Contract Logistics).
- Experience in supervising an international team within Auditing or Controlling processes in a complex and international business environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience from logistic industry; or alternatively in a high-transactional or large data environment preferably with a global scope.
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge and understanding of financial and business management principles with the ability to communicate and prioritize business requirements.
- Experience with reporting to senior management.
- Solid understanding of compliance requirements.
- Leadership: Ability to guide, motivate, and inspire teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Strategic and Critical Thinking: Ability to identify big picture goals, develop strategies to reach them, and make informed decisions based on data and insights.
