We are seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to join a large international manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate should have experience with building out a team and processes for the accounting department. Sr. Accounting Manager should be extremely organized and have previous experience within a shared service environment. Experience with IFRS and international experience also a plus.
- Supervise a team of associates involved in general accounting processes, providing guidance in day-to-day operations.
- Ensure the examination and posting of adjusting/correcting journals.
- Review expense provisioning and allocate costs to different departments before finalizing entries.
- Verify interdivisional and intradivisional reconciliations of balances and transactions.
- Prepare a checklist for month-end account closing procedures.
- Oversee the preparation for month-end closure and the production of necessary reports.
- Maintain the General Ledger master database and authorize new GL requirements.
- Ensure adherence to group policies, internal controls, and local guidelines in all Record to Report (RTR) operations.
- Manage both external and internal audit processes effectively.
- Provide support and administer process procedures and standards.
- 3-5 years of experience in managing accounting closures and conducting internal and external audits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience managing a high-volume General Ledger function and understanding associated controls and procedures.
- Familiarity with statutory requirements related to the General Ledger.
- Experience in leading teams and processes through periods of change.
- Background in long-term construction or manufacturing accounting preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP is advantageous.
- Ability to manage costs within budget constraints.
- Experience in identifying and implementing best practices for closing and reporting.
- Strong independent work ethic and team collaboration skills.

- Commitment to driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Prior experience in a leading role within a Finance Shared Service Centre is desirable.
