The Sr IT Director Shared Services is responsible for partnering with Flagstar’s internal business functions to define, develop and execute the IT strategy for each internal function. Leads project delivery, enhancements, and maintenance teams in support of enterprise technology and digital banking services. Ensures development and support of end to end solutions while improving existing processes and creating efficiencies. The Sr. IT Director Shared Services will also be responsible for understanding each business function they support, and researching solutions that improve that function’s needs, and providing technology advice and guidance. The Sr. IT Director Shared Services will act as a single point of contact to their business functions and coordinate support and solutions across the IT organization.
- Proactively lead business units in identifying their technology needs to design and maintain their IT roadmap.
- Develop materials and participate in SPARC meetings representing the technology side of the business unit’s requests.
- Participate in annual capital planning.
- Strive to improve technology processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
- Lead a team of program managers, project managers, business analysts, and developers in support of each business function.
- Participate with the IT leadership team in developing and driving strategies and a culture to improve the technology organization’s ability to deliver better, more innovative, and cost-effective solutions to the business.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar’s internal compliance policies, standards, and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Information Science or Technology, MIS, Computer Science or Business Administration.
- 13+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in a Bank or Financial Services environment.
- 8+ years of experience directly leading and developing a team of application development professionals.
- Strong experience leading planning and execution activities for large-scale enterprise systems and projects.
- Strong experience developing and implementing enterprise solution and integration strategies, vision, and guiding principles based on best practices, standards and business needs.
- Experience implementing policies, standards, guidelines that direct software development lifecycle activities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into high-performing technical solutions.
- Extensive experience in multiple, diverse infrastructure and application technologies.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of database structures, relational and non.
- Experience in technology roadmap development and implementation.
- Strong leadership, communication (written and oral), and collaboration skills, dealing with fast-moving, complex scenarios supporting multiple initiatives and goals, across matrixed stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT security practices and integrations with application authorization and access.
- Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering along with instruction and leading teams.
- Proven ability to prioritize work appropriately considering risk, financial impact and expectations of delivery.
- Experience driving change and effecting process improvement through organizational influence.
- Ability to coordinate and execute cross-functionally with both technical and business personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations of complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Proven track record of achieving results in challenging environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- HR, Finance, Procurement, Risk, and Compliance solution experience preferred.
- Banking or Financial Services experience preferred.
- 5 – 10% travel required.
