Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Sr. Manager, Accounting Shared Services to be based out of our Harvey, IL facility. Reporting to the Director, Accounting Shared Services, this newly created role will be integral into continued buildout of the shared service group as we continue to centralize selected processes throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with company’s Technical Accounting team to develop and implement standardized accounting policies under US GAAP with an emphasis on Inventory
• Recording of complex accounting entries under the LIFO accounting principle
• Calculate periodic sales return reserve and lookbacks for audit purposes
• Ensure accurate and timely close processes are in place
• Analyze results and report variances against budget and expectations. Recommend corrective actions as indicated by performance to meet P&L and working capital targets
• Partner with broader financial team to facilitate standardization of accounting, financial reporting, planning, and analysis
• Protect company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
• Perform SOX control activities
• Develop & implement processes into Shared Services for selected areas
• Interact with, and respond to, audit inquires
• Participate in key business initiatives, perform benchmarking and other ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
• 7+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years if all public
• Highly proficient in Microsoft suite with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle products such as JD Edwards, HFM, Essbase
• Solid understanding of US GAAP
• Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, experience working with business partners with ability to influence others
