Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a UK Head of People Shared Services to join our Group People team on a permanent basis. The role will be based at Basingstoke office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.

As the UK Head of People Shared Services, you’ll play a key role in designing and launching our new UK People Services function. Lead the Way

• Build and manage a talented UK People Shared Services team.
• Drive integration into the Global Shared Services strategy, expanding across others regions in EMEA and APAC.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Ensure seamless service delivery with tech and optimised processes.
• Use data insights to improve performance and enhance experiences.

Foster Stakeholder Collaboration

• Build strong relationships with People teams, leadership, and global peers.
• Communicate updates and align on service goals.

Ensure Compliance and Governance

• Oversee UK employment law, GDPR, and health/safety compliance .
• Develop governance frameworks for accountability and consistency .

Show Functional Expertise

• Lead teams in Employee Relations, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Service Enablement, delivering exceptional support and service.

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
• Considerable experience of leading a People team responsible for generalist support and leadership is required
• Experience in a People shared service environment is preferred
• Project management and Six Sigma skills preferred
• Hospitality experience preferred
• Budgeting and financial acumen preferred
