The Manager for General Ledger is responsible for managing and executing the day-to-day operations of General Ledger and ensuring that excellent customer service are provided to both internal and external customers. Accurate financial reports are provided to management and covers the Supervisor, Analyst and Team Lead when possible. This person successfully implements financial operation initiatives, builds relationships with business partners and improves workflow to minimize costs.

  • Oversee various General Ledger functions of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies & procedures, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Balance Sheet reconciliation process of various accounts.
  • Manage the budget and monthly P&L review of of multiple cost centers and regions.
  • Manage to coordinate and resolve P&L Issues of assigned regions and accounts with Operation and other Finance teams
  • Approve and post journal entries submitted by the GL, FA, and LM teams.
  • Manage the month-end close adjustments including reviewing and analyzing Balance Sheet account’s ending balances.
  • Ensure an accrurate and timely monthly accrual of Other Operating expenses following the calendar schedule
  • Evaluate and recommend internal process improvement to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensures appropriate controls are in place related to Journal Entries, new site acronym and GL account creation
  • Ensures that Management reports are timely and properly distributed to Operations and uploaded in the ECM system
  • Ensures financial information reported is complete and accurate for preparation of financial statements, ledgers and reports.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to senior management to help leadership evaluate and drive ongoing and strategic business decision making.
  • Must be able to handle high levels of stress and be cooperative to other clients and employees at all times.
  • Manage delegation of assigned special projects as specified by the senior Management team.
  • Ensure team members attend necessary training to develop programs that meet user requirements.
  • MUST BE AMENABLE TO WORK ON NIGHT SHIFT.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
  • Certified Public Accountant required.

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

  • At least 7 years of financial and/or accounting experience with a minimum of five years experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager of Finance. Service Industry and/or international financial experience a plus.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to direct several major projects simultaneously while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and direct others
  • Flexible and open for innovation
  • Able to work on graveyard shift
