The VP Corporate Finance is responsible for processing the financial activities that maximize profits for the company and provides critical leadership over the business and finance team. Directs the divisional financial planning and accounting while marshaling the assets of the business by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
- Lead the financial reporting, SOX, shared services, tax and accounting teams.
- Analyze data in order to make strategic decisions for the business.
- Responsible for the preparation of Audit Committee material.
- Appraises the organization’s financial position and issues periodic reports on organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and operations.
- Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determines their financial impact.
- Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities.
- Oversight of the monthly/quarterly financial close and reporting process.
- Timely and accurate completion of monthly close and reporting activities.
- Ensure design and operating effectiveness of internal controls (SOX compliance).
- Establish policies and procedures in conjunction with corporate standards.
- Drive the BI strategy to deliver clear and reliable performance metrics (KPIs) which provide actionable insights to the entire organization.
- Develop and maintain financial systems and tools to ensure the accurate and time efficient preparation of financial analysis and reports.
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure that system upgrades/enhancements are made to improve existing systems (i.e., Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle EBS, Hyperion, etc.).
- Define/adopt and share best practices for reporting and performance measurement across the organization.
- Oversee renewal of and accounting for corporate insurance policies.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Manufacturing environment/standard costing experience
- CPA designation
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with a minimum of 5 years in a management role or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Consumer products (CPG) and processing experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have mastery of accounting software systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle EBS and/or Hyperion systems would be an asset.
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, tax planning, auditing, and internal controls.
- A background in financing modelling using MS Excel will be beneficial.
- Solid business acumen and experience in assessing operations, business processes and their relationship to accounting and reporting.
- Prior experience of attending and presenting material to the Audit Committee.
- Must possess a high level of initiative.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to interact with all staffing levels (front-line through to executive level) and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong math skills; problem analysis and problem resolution skills.

- Merger and Acquisitions experience.
- Detail oriented, deadline driven, organized, ability to handle multiple tasks while working independently or as part of a team.
- Well-developed social skills to foster effective internal working relationships spanning numerous business units and functions.
- Ability to initiate and manage projects to completion, on time and on budget.
