Join us as the VP Finance (all genders) and lead the transformation of our financial landscape. You will oversee Accounting, Treasury, and Accounts Receivable to ensure the application of global standards across the HRS Group.
In Accounting, you will act as the central coordinator for all local and global accounting matters involving colleagues, management, auditors and tax lawyers. You will manage payment transactions and German GAAP accounting issues. Your responsibilities include the timely, complete and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, as well as annual financial statements (including notes and management reports). You will supervise tax matters, ensuring the timely completion of VAT and year-end tax returns with the tax department. You will establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures in the accounting department to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including conducting regular reviews and audits. Your expertise in HGB and particularly in IFRS will be crucial as we transition to this new accounting standard. Proven experience in leading team transformations is essential.
In Treasury, you will work with dedicated experts to drive the automation of Cash Management and integrate systems for accurate Cash Flow Forecasting using an integrated Data Lake approach. Ideally, you will also bring tax expertise to manage this function concurrently.
In Accounts Receivable, you will be responsible for maintaining the billing system. Your team will generate invoices and account statements, perform account reconciliations, maintain accounts receivable files and records, provide monthly financial and management reports, investigate and resolve any irregularities or inquiries, and assist in general financial management and analysis.
- Financial Leadership: Lead the accounting, treasury and tax teams and/or experts, shaping the financial strategy
- Oversee Accounting: Oversee the accounting and preparation of monthly and annual accounts of all global subsidiaries (>30 entities)
- Group Consolidation: Responsible for the Group Consolidation and preparation of the consolidated Group Accounts
- Service Provider Coordination: Coordinate external service providers globally
- Reporting Packs: Create the reporting packs for banks and other stakeholders
- ERP Environment: Play a vital role in the enhancement of the global accounting / ERP environment in setting standards and ensuring proper application.
- KPI Optimization: Analysis, management and optimization of KPIs, processes and infrastructure in your area of responsibility.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Optimize reporting and cash flow forecasting to predict cash needs with 1% variance
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with partner for externals, e.g. auditors, tax advisors, etc.
- Impairment Testing: Conduct impairment testing for foreign entities and subsidiaries
- Process Improvement: Enhance monthly closing, forecasting, and budget planning
- Technology Integration: Implement advanced accounting and treasury technologies
- Change Management: Lead accounting standards and process transformations
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, with a subsequent “Bilanzbuchhalter” and/or Management Accountant certification would be appreciated or related field. 10+ years in financial leadership, ideally including SaaS tech companies.
- Background: Background from a finance/accounting firm (preferably BIG 4), with several years of experience in Group Accounting / Consolidation (> 5 years in senior role).
- Subject Matter Expertise: Highly accomplished subject matter expert with an in depth knowledge in IFRS and HGB
- Hands-On Mentality, Change Management & Transformation Experience: Demonstrated hands-on approach with attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, pragmatic decision-making, and a proven record in leading team and process transformations
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HGB and IFRS standards, ERP Systems (SAP, Navision) and consolidation tools (LucaNet) highly appreciated
- Consulting Expertise: Strong background in consulting business units and markets
- Leadership: Strong leadership, with a proven ability to lead distributed teams & get things done
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, spoken and written. German will be considered as a plus.
- How success looks like: In 6 months, success is reflected in an optimized financial structure and accuracy in cashflow prediction as well as a high automation level for the accounts receivable processes.
