The Vice President of Human Resources will oversee all aspects of HR. We seek an experienced professional with detailed experience in understanding how to lead a best-in-class department built for today and scalable in a high-growth environment. Reporting to the executive team, the right candidate will have detailed experience setting and achieving departmental goals. The right candidate will be comfortable overseeing HR and providing guidance in the boardroom by using analytics, reporting, collaboration with peers, and close relationships with the workforce.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee HR staff
- Create and maintain uniform processes around reviews, compensation, onboarding, discipline, and termination
- Oversee and report risks and resolutions within the department’s purview to the executive team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identify ways to support this mission through talent management. Review analytics and reporting daily and take action to improve productivity within the department
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws
- Develop and implement, in a timely manner, compensation programs, performance appraisals, and employee incentive programs
- Provide guidance and leadership to the human resource team daily; assists with resolving human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues
- Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements
- Point-of-contact for labor attorneys and partners and use knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law to help the company maintain best practices
- Draft and implement the organization’s personnel budget and the budget for the human resource department
- Provide executive management with timely, regular, accurate staffing, compensation, and departmental reports as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills, resolution strategies, and execution
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to fine detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create, read and interpret various reports in many formats
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations with many years of consulting with attorneys
- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Masters preferred or 15+ years of experience
