TrueNorth is actively hiring a Vice President of Human Resources to join their team. As the Vice President of Human Resources, this individual will act as a trusted advisor and functional supporter to our Executive and shared services. This role will include collaboration with key stakeholders to align Human Systems initiatives with overall business objectives. Working with leaders and directly with colleagues to enhance colleague engagement, effectiveness, and career development is a critical motivator for TrueNorth’s investment in this role. This role requires a solid understanding of Human Resources best practices, strong communication skills, the ability to influence and navigate multi-faceted organizational dynamics, and a genuine desire to assist people in achieving their greatest potential within a professional environment.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing expert advice and guidance on Human Systems matters that align with overall business strategy and goals.
  • Collaborate with Divisional leadership to identify and understand their unique HR needs and develop tailored solutions to address those needs.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on talent management, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, engagement, retention/attrition, performance management and colleague development.
  • Effectively leads and applies change management principles through the adaptation, implementation, execution and continuous improvement of TrueNorth’s Human Systems policies and programs, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Advise and coach leaders on HR policies, practices, and employment law updates to promote compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Directly oversees HR Operations, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and other Human Systems functions, as applicable.
  • Leads talent management efforts by partnering with leadership on talent recruitment and retention strategies, succession planning, performance assessment reviews and identifying development plans to support and align with our colleague engagement strategies.
  • Proactively promotes organizational development, training, and coaching plans to provide colleagues and leaders with career development opportunities and alignment of strengths and unique abilities.
  • Leads the HR team to develop, implement, and maintain a healthy and positive work environment within the OneTrueNorth culture.
  • Manage employee relations matters in partnership with the TrueNorth Legal Team, including investigations, conflict resolution, performance issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and generate the proper reports regarding HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and proactively recommend solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Drives policy and program development to maintain and improve an award winning work environment that ultimately increases workplace performance and productivity.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • SHRM or HCRI Certification preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience in the Human Resources field required.
  • Five or more years of experience in Human Resources or Senior Level experience with an emphasis on colleague engagement and talent management.
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar HR role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
