The Vice President of Human Resources will serve as a key member of the leadership team and provide guidance and direction from an HR perspective to Kinetico management and employees. Reporting to the President & CEO of Kinetico, the Vice President of Human Resources will lead and oversee all organizational development initiatives and the implementation of human resources policies, programs and services including talent acquisition, talent management, talent development and succession, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. They will be actively involved in acquisition and partnership activities to grow, evolve, and enhance the organization. In particular, the Vice President of Human Resources will provide the intellectual and directional leadership in conceiving, recommending, and leading the implementation of new and more effective organizational designs and talent capabilities to support the business’ global, long-term strategic goals.

Seasoned HR executive to drive the intellectual agenda of building new human capital capabilities and running the Human Resources teams below them in multiple countries and geographies.

Specific ongoing tasks and responsibilities for the Vice President of Human Resources will include:

  • Serve as a member of Kinetico’s leadership team, working collaboratively with the other members of management to deliver outstanding value to customers while building long-term value for the owners.
  • Create programs to enhance and build critical global organizational capabilities in Operations, Research and Development / Technology, and Human Resources, and in business unit marketing and sales operations, and Finance and Legal. Working in concert with the leadership team.
  • Work with the leadership team and the strategic plan to develop the future state organizational structure, identify gaps between current state and future state, and make business and organizational decisions that support the future state.
  • Developing and owning the long-term talent strategy to ensure that the company’s human capital is adequately and effectively invested in, trained, and deployed to support the company’s vision/mission. Design and deliver effective talent development and management practices and processes that identifies the business needs and current gaps, determine development training that addresses gaps and develops future leaders and career pathing; manages personnel request processes, job/title/wage change processes; runs wage review, bonus and incentive compensation and merit increase processes on an annual or as needed basis.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of all employee benefit plans and programs, including working closely with the Company’s CFO to manage and oversee medical benefits and our broker relationship.
  • Continually assess the employees to determine where focus, direction, staffing, and supervision are effective and where improvement is required. Assess the existing human resources policies, procedures, and operations and, where appropriate, develop and implement improved methods and procedures to ensure optimal human capital efficiency.
  • Deepen, reinforce, and lead the implementation and furthering of the One Kinetico Experience globally. Refining the vision, values, behaviors, and purpose to unify and create a more impactful and One Kinetico Culture that is consistent globally and adopted locally.
  • Ensure that the best team is in place: hire, develop and motivate the staff. Establish succession plans for critical positions.
  • Implement and refine the Incentive Compensation and performance management processes. This will include processes and mechanisms to set individual annual goals and objective, measure performance against goals, processes to calibrate, recommend and set annual incentive compensation and salary for the coming year including capturing individual goals targets.
  • Create the vision, lead, and build strong country / local HR teams to implement foundational HR functions and processes such as wage, salary and bonus, benefits administration, payroll, performance management, time and attendance, talent acquisition, compliance, employee interface, and HR records and management systems.
  • Delegate responsibility to the direct-reporting staff and ensure accountability. Promote a can-do attitude throughout the organization. Promote an entrepreneurial working environment and encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving throughout the organization.
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement and provide organizational support and structure to sustain changes.
  • Maintain the operation’s union-free status: work effectively with labor, maintain open communication, and resolve issues quickly while listening for ideas that might improve processes; where possible, enlist labor in the solutions.
  • Direct the implementation of appropriate training and development programs to effectively ensure the availability of qualified employees to staff the operation and meet future requirements.
  • Work closely with the Company’s CFO to maintain a comprehensive financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting human capital needs of the business.

Candidate Profile, Experience and Professional Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have had thought leadership and oversight for an HR function partnering closely with the leadership team to build culture and align HR to meet the goals and needs of an evolving business. The candidate should have a track record of success in a progressive, talent focused organization providing advice and counsel across key talent areas including succession planning, performance management and career development. Kinetico is seeking candidates with the following work history, knowledge, and skills:

  • At least 10 years of Human Resources leadership experience in progressive, innovative and dynamic organizations, with international operations in North America and Europe. Experience working in private equity or for a holding company environment ideal;
  • Industry experience may include industrials, manufacturing and/or distribution;
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic plans into actionable and effective organizational capabilities and designs to lead the effort to implement enhanced and new higher performing organizational capabilities;
  • Well experienced in establishing best-of-class organizational development and talent management practices;
  • Proven success in building and developing world-class Human Assets and Human Resource Teams;
  • Ability to operate as a constructive disruptor by productively challenging established paradigms and allowing for collaborative change;
  • Ability implement and foster a diverse and inclusive work environment;
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
  • A history of attracting, developing, and retaining top talent;
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and integration preferred; and
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, partner and influence stakeholders at all levels.
