The Vice President of Information Technology will be responsible for leading a team of skilled IT employees and external partners overseeing cyber security, IT systems, processes and applications, and the network infrastructure. This role will also work closely with Standex business leaders and IT resources to understand operational needs and translate these needs into cost-effective, high-quality IT solutions and deliver flawless execution of basic IT functions. The individual will be comfortable taking on a “player/coach” role, combining a strategic mindset in how we use technology to drive value with a strong operational acumen to ensure IT processes, systems and programs are executed in a timely and efficient manner. The individual will work with the CEO and CFO to evolve and translate an IT vision and strategy into a long term, executable plan, working in partnership with our business leaders and IT resources. The individual will have demonstrated experience and results in successfully leveraging IT platforms ( i.e., SAP, OneStream, etc.), collaborating across business units and geographies, while having the influencing skills to implement the required changes. The individual will be able to build a prioritized project portfolio with business cases and engage both internal and external resources to implement the portfolio.

  • Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Provide vision, direction, and guidance to the IT department, ensuring effective management of resources and alignment with business needs.
  • Establish and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s data and systems from potential threats.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s technology infrastructure, including networks, systems, databases, and hardware.
  • Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and manage the IT department’s budget, allocate resources effectively, and optimize IT investments.
  • Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure service levels and quality standards are met.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Oversee the help desk function within IT to ensure a positive and productive support environment, ensuring that end users receive the assistance they need while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring the organization’s IT systems and processes adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand their technology needs, provide IT solutions, and support their initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 15+ years in progressively responsible IT roles, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic decision-making. Prior experience in managing a large-scale IT environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and software relevant to the organization’s industry. Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends is advantageous.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a strategic mindset, the ability to motivate and inspire teams, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of business operations, financial management, and the ability to align IT strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex IT challenges.
  • The capacity to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including executives, employees, vendors, and external partners.
  • A solid understanding of industry-specific regulations, compliance requirements, and security standards.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required.
