CubeSmart is currently seeking a Vice President of Revenue Management, Data and Analytics to join our team. Reporting into the Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Revenue Management, the Vice President of Revenue Management, Data and Analytics will lead CubeSmart’s revenue management, business intelligence, data science functions, and serve as the technical owner overseeing all aspects of CubeSmart’s data ecosystem. The design and delivery of an effective revenue management strategy and data assets are essential to ensuring that we are maximizing the revenue for our 1,300 stores across the U.S. As an officer of the company the Vice President of Revenue Management, Data and Analytics will collaborate with other leaders throughout the organization to identify opportunities to support the business using sophisticated data analytics techniques.

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop an integrated revenue strategy that will facilitate outsized top-line growth above baseline forecasts for company.
  • Utilize deep analytics to understand bundling and pricing strategies that can drive higher yields per transaction and increase in the volume of transactions.
  • Serve as the lead on CubeSmart’s data strategy with a focus on predictive and descriptive analytics to enhance all areas in which the company operates and invests, including pricing, digital marketing, customer interactions, and the identification of self-storage acquisition/development opportunities.
  • Constantly employ test and learn strategies to discover optimal pricing, discounting, and partnership strategies.
  • Determine and manage the technology and process to set rental rates and promotional strategy across all locations.
  • Work closely with Operations and digital Marketing teams to identify areas of “unlock” in the customer funnel to facilitate more sales volume and facilitate greater close rates.
  • Assess pricing opportunities to drive higher overall price yield across the organization.
  • Create a path toward dynamic pricing based on historical consumer purchasing behavior and seasonality trends within the business.
  • Collaborate with data systems team and business stakeholders to establish, document, and prioritize the data requirements and data delivery in support of CubeSmart’s data and technology needs.
  • Partner with IT to design, develop and execute next generation data platform in support of revenue management, business intelligence, data science and artificial intelligence (AI) needs.
  • Assess external strategic partnerships and initiatives that support organic growth.
  • Responsible for the strategy on all aspects of the CubeSmart’s data environment.
  • Present all revenue strategies to executive leadership and the Board members, as necessary.

  • Create an engaging collaborative team culture in which teammates want to do their best. Communicate a shared vision with team members to motivate and inspire performance around the functional and operational strategy. Recognize contributions and hold teammates accountable for results.
  • Build a strong leadership team. Assess skills and talent to ensure team members have the skills and capacity to deliver against the revenue management and data strategy and contribute to the overall goals of CubeSmart. Identify any gaps in talent and recruit/develop/train as appropriate. Develop the appropriate internal talent and succession plans.
  • Manage the team, providing leadership, mentorship, feedback, coaching, strategic development experiences and guidance with a collaborative philosophy as the business expands.
  • Serve as a role model and leader in maintaining of culture of genuine care and unparalleled customer service.
  • Manage the team and vendors/partners responsible for architecting, building, operating and supporting key platforms and technology services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with historical revenue optimization experience either in a high growth company and/or with background in pricing. Experience in multi-unit, retail, ecommerce, or hospitality preferred.
  • History of working in consumer-centric oriented companies preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying advanced data science and business intelligence techniques to identify improvement opportunities for business functions.
  • Experience with large, sophisticated organizations with reputation for KPI driven approach.
  • Well-rounded leader with a combination of strategic thinking and focus on data and analytics.
  • Results-oriented professional with financial acumen and focus on driving value creation.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and will to find new revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborative team-oriented leader with strong, proactive communication skills.
  • Appreciation for attention to detail and process orientation to drive efficiency.
  • Public company experience a plus.
