Children’s Health seeks a dynamic and collaborative professional who appreciates the unique needs of a world-class, university-affiliated children’s health system and embodies the empathetic culture of a pediatric healthcare institution.

• Provide corporate-wide strategic leadership and direction to security services to ensure a safe, secure, and orderly environment. Ensure departmental policies, practices and objectives are aligned with CHST’s mission, vision and strategic plans, including development of new facilities and buildings.
• Develop, implement and maintain security and crime prevention strategies and initiatives.
• Responsible for security technology planning and implementation. Ensure current technologies are being utilized fully and managed properly, develop and implement a security technology master plan that addresses needs out 5+ years.
• Coordinate and collaborate with public safety, law enforcement, and community organizations. Maintain effective relationships with counterparts at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Health, and other local government officials, community leaders, and public.

Leadership skills and characteristics required include a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, the ability to excel in a complex and rapidly changing environment, decisive and action-oriented with the ability to inspire and motivate others toward results, emotional intelligence and passionate and committed to the mission of Children’s Health.

The ideal candidate will bring 10 years of substantial and progressive leadership experience in security, public safety, law enforcement, or related field. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience is required, an advanced degree along with a Health Protection Administrator (or equivalent) certification is strongly preferred.
