McCormick & Company, Inc., a global leader in the spice, flavor, and seasonings industry, is seeking a full-time VP, Global Business Services. The VP, Global Business Serviceswill report to the SVP Finance & Global Services.This new hire will be based at McCormick’s global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD and will be eligible to participate in McCormick’s hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

The VP of Global Business Services will be responsible for providing long term planning, integration and management of key global strategic functions while driving daily disciplined execution for McCormick’s Global Business Services organization . This role brings together critical strategic and administrative activities with the intention of further increasing the strategic and operational effectiveness, efficiency and speed of these critical functions globally at McCormick. This position provides executive leadership over critical support functions for the organization including Finance, HR, Procurement and Quality & Regulatory, and Global Capabilities including Process Improvement, Automation, and Data and Analytics, and leads a team of over 650 GBS team members.

This leader will set the vision and the strategic direction for enabling key functions for McCormick. The role is part of the Finance organization and is a key member of the Finance Leadership Team (FLT). This role focuses on continuous improvement, expansion of service offerings and geographic reach, and developing a true global delivery model for all locations where McCormick operates.

This Global leader will be responsible for achieving service delivery goals for each end-to-end process, including targets for process cost, process effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The role will report to the SVP, Finance and Global Business Services.

The role can be located in Hunt Valley, Maryland or Lodz, Poland

 

  • Serves as a member of the Finance Leadership Team, with strong collaboration across Regions and Functions to provide services aligned with enterprise strategy and objectives
  • Formulates and drives alignment on the Global Business Services annual operating plan, laying out the roadmap to deliver against customer requirements and expectations, taking into account budget, capability, and technology constraints
  • Oversees and leads all delivery for processes driven by the GBS organization
  • Directs day-to-day operations of the GBS organization
  • Manages relationships with process stakeholders, including internal & external customers and colleagues in functions related to process execution
  • Holds primary accountability for setting, measuring, and delivering against key performance indicators for GBS organization as a whole, and individual processes
  • Holds primary responsibility for identifying service delivery issues, and formulating remediation plan to address persistent issues
  • Holds primary responsibility for ensuring needs of process customers are met, managing expectations of senior process customers and functional colleagues through GBS executive-level and operational governance
  • Partners with McCormick Information Technology to put in place and optimize technology solutions to support process execution
  • Manages operational integration of new acquisitions into GBS processes
  • Leads and/or partners in enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Leads a globally diverse and dispersed team across multiple geographies (650+ members)
  • Inspires talent through people-focused leadership and robust plans to ensure a high-performing organization., succession depth and diverse and inclusive teams
  • Oversees talent development within the GBS organization, including developing clear career paths and development opportunities in collaboration with organizations across McCormick, to become an importer and exporter of great talent.
  • Creates culture of the organization ensuring value creation, collaboration and integration with McCormick’s Power of People philosophy, principles and shared values
  • 15+ years of experience leading and growing a global client-service or customer-oriented function involving transformational initiatives and processes across multiple functions and geographies
  • 7 – 10 years in a senior leadership role with direct continuous and process improvement experience and/or delivering multiple/complex projects
  • Experience in global business services, operations, or similar service-oriented leadership roles preferred
  • Strong process orientation
  • Oerations and/or Service oriented background and experience wirh a strong finance mindset
  • Six Sigma or similar lean/process improvement methodology experience strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree in business preferred
  • Experience delivering an operating model with in-sourced and out-sourced/service management components
  • Experience leading, developing and coaching employees and high performing teams in a geographically dispersed organization, high cultural awareness
  • Experience with developing career paths and identifying development opportunities in collaboration with functions, to ensure ongoing growth and retention of top talent within GBS and related functions
  • Experience working in global, multicultural environments which require cultural awareness
  • Strong business acumen with ability to identify and proactively address impacts and disruptions
  • Change management expertise that integrates the project, cultural and business impacts
  • Strategic and forward thinking with the ability to drive execution to deliver results
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management knowledge, skills and abilities to establish creditability and confidence with customers and employees
  • Strong personal presence and ability to influence, galvanize and align customers and employees at all levels
  • Strong communication, listening, facilitation, presentation and creative problem solving skills
  • Must be able to travel internationally ~30% of the time
