The VP of Indirect Procurement is responsible for the delivery of the procurement shared service across all the Leonardo Divisions operating in the UK (Electronics, Cyber and Helicopters).

The successful candidate will lead supplier management across a portfolio of complex categories, requiring strategic alignment with business stakeholders including divisional stakeholders within the UK and corporate leadership based in Italy.

This is a Hybrid role to be based from one of the Leonardo UK sites.  Frequent business trips to other Leonardo UK locations is to be expected with occasional overseas travel.

  • Drive the procurement and supplier strategy, policy and operational objectives for the UK Indirect Procurement shared services across the three divisions of Leonardo UK
  • Direct, manage and communicate the partner and supplier performance associated with achievement of Leonardo UK business targets
  • Act as the executive level contact to manage supplier relationships throughout the procurement lifecycle
  • Provide specialist expertise to a UK wide team to ensure the right contractual and service agreements, pricing solutions, and performance are sustained with suppliers
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 25 procurement professionals distributed across the Leonardo UK sites
  • Consistently champion ethical and sustainable procurement initiatives including social value, supplier diversity and reduction of the organisation’s environmental impact
  • Significant subject matter expertise operating within large, complex and preferably international businesses
  • Demonstrable examples of delivering added value as well as cost savings to the business through supplier negotiation, contract management, effective risk management, process improvement, all within a collaborative partnering framework
  • Experience underpinned by a relevant degree-level qualification, professional qualifications (MCIPS ideal) and membership of a relevant professional institution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at senior levels both inside and outside of the procurement function
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing a geographically distributed team
