Large, privately owned, multi-national manufacturing and service-based parent company is looking for a finance leader to join our team. VP of Corporate Finance will provide financial supervision and thought leadership to all aspects of the business. The VP of Corporate Finance will be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to create consistency, resolve issues and advance the efficiency of the finance team throughout the entire organization.
- Provide oversight for finance shared service groups, including: Billing, Collections, AP, Reporting, Tax, and Treasury. Working with managers of each functional area to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinates the development of the annual financial plan, developing business and financial projections to set the objectives for the new plan year. Analyzes monthly financial and operating results to assess performance relative to achieving the fiscal year plan objectives. Based on such analysis, recommends corrective actions that will result in improved financial results.
- Ensures the company is in compliance with financial covenants of the lenders. Manages cash flow closely to ensure funds are available for necessary capital spending and debt reduction. Plans and manages cash resources, including cash management, credit, collections and financial institution relationships.
- Enhance systems to properly consolidate multi-business financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Works with independent auditors and business unit finance leaders to complete the annual financial audit report.
- Works with outside and internal tax resources to ensure compliance with all tax reporting and identifying planning strategies to minimize cost and risk.
- Establishes policies and procedures to ensure that proper accounting records are maintained on all assets, liabilities and transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Maintains internal control structure to ensure integrity of all financial information and reports.
- Provide recommendations and strategic advice to the CFO on Financial forecasting/planning, acquisitions and asset management. Provide creative ideas and thoughtful counsel on any issues related to the company’s financial performance.
- Develop, enhance and direct the business information systems to anticipate and meet changing needs.
- Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances.
- Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field from an accredited college or university.
- 5+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector.
- 5+ years’ experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
- 5+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications:
- National accounting firm audit experience is preferred but not required.
- C.P.A. is preferred but not required.
