Responsibility and accountability for developing, refining, and continually improving a world class, shared services organization. The focus must be on creating a strategically aligned shared services organization an execute a strategy to deliver premier value through a shared services model. The shared services profile will include the real-estate, aviation, corporate security, finance operations, and HR operations organizations.

The VP will partner with leaders to develop and establish performance expectations of a shared services culture and structure including creation and maintenance of customer-focused service level agreements, which articulate quality, service, and cost commitments; roadmaps for planning and executing key improvement and business support initiatives; monitoring and reporting performance via key metrics/dashboards. This individual must have knowledge of and a proven track record of accomplishment in operations and provide excellence in quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of transactional services.The VP, Shared Services must also have a balanced operational, financial, or technology background, understanding the tradeoffs that characterize deliver on the shared services value proposition. As the VP, Shared Services this leader will support and help deliver on the overarching vision and mission of the company and the objectives associated with our four key stakeholders – customers, employees, communities, and owners.

Establish, communicate, and monitor clear expectations for performance. Ensure clear understanding of responsibilities among personnel such that there are no process gaps.

Experience And Education Needed

Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, engineering, finance, or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.

10 years of experience in shared services or technology environment. 5 years of leadership experience.

Additional Role Requirements

It will be important for this VP to effect cultural change within his/her organization for it to evolve and be successful. A forward thinker with a sense of urgency who not only embraces but initiates change is essential. A strategic thinker with strong process, implementation, customer/stakeholder and interpersonal skills is required, as is a true team-player with a history of building strong, effective teams.

In addition, this critical leadership position requires an individual motivated by an passion for excellence, a take-charge, collaborative, relationship-driven professional with a demonstrated track record of establishing performance targets and holding people accountable to achieve those targets–setting stretch but realistic aspirations, empowering people with accountability rather than rigid controls and nurturing a culture that demands high performance and an infrastructure necessary for success. Also necessary is an individual with excellent presence and stand-up presentation skills (internally and externally), the sharply-honed ability to articulate complex concepts and ideas simply (to the broadest range of audiences in “their own language”).

As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
